about

Delaney Doersch is a Thai American documentary filmmaker living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She’s a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where she first began her journey documenting her Mother’s adoption story in the short titled ‘Ipseity’. The project grated her a two-year fellowship with Milwaukee Film, along with a deeper understanding of her biracial identity.

Although her most recent work has been deeply personal, Delaney’s portfolio exemplifies her ability to compassionately collaborate with her Milwaukee community to illuminate their stories. She’s worked in collaboration with Grace Weber’s Music Lab, ELCA’s World Hunger, Tricklebee Cafe, and Leaders Igniting Transformation to tell local stories.

In 2023, she was a recipient of the Milwaukee Forward Fund for her debut feature documentary titled ‘Mother’s Motherland’ which continues her mother’s adoption story as they visit her homeland 60 years after the adoption. Mother’s Motherland is currently in post-production.
